“Never turn away from your Early Work” my mantra to all artists, because it will certainly be a re-discovery. These wonderfully graphic drawings are worked with highly expressive gestures in gouache and pastels giving both velvety, flat colour and soft chalky forms to leaves and flowers. The pastels were my favoured medium for years and have a durability that can tolerate bring light. In fact these large pieces revel in just such a setting. Vibrant and terrifically colourful, they have a real WOW factor – and I would add there are only a few of them left after a wonderfully successful show at the Century Gallery, Henley in 1990! AND still very enduring in their impact – DAZZLERS.
