Bowl of Apples and Glass of Wheat
Beautiful ceramic bowls bought in Italy in the 60’s by my husband’s mother have been a constant source of inspiration for years. Here one is filled with apples and set on a kitchen apron printed with more fruit. The whole joyous confection made such a nice foil for the wheat that was picked on an late summer walk and put in a glass vase. Now that is the practical aspect. What of the painting? Warmth, soft bright colours, perfect for a kitchen.
Acrylic Paint on Saunders Waterford Paper floated on pale creamy white mount
Framed in ‘distressed’ colours picked out and enhancing the work
96 x 75 cm (38 x 30inches)
